To Mrs Yabrove's 3rd grade class!

Thank you for your comment on my blog, I am happy to have you along for the journey. I have just posted a new blog entry with several photos of animals, can you tell me which is your favorite?

I have just landed in the city of Gondor, in northern Ethiopia. What a cool name for a city, don't you think? See if you can find it on the map.

The hotel I am staying in has a hot shower, so things have improved.

Tomorrow I go visit a castle. After wards I begin a 2 day journey to the city of Axum, where they say the Ark of the Covenant is kept.

Thank you again for your comments, keep them coming!

Cheers,

Dean

Mrs. Yabrove's Class

Greetings from Mrs. Yabrove's third grade class in Littleton,Colorado!
We enjoyed hearing about your adventures in Ethiopia but we don't think we would like to shower in brown water. Have you seen any interesting animals lately? What was your favorite? Did you see one of the crocodiles in the river? What is your favorite part of Africa so far? We wish you good luck on your journey!

Brittany Newill

Yek, brown water for a shower? I don't think I could survive that, but it would cool be down a bit.

Other than that, it does seem like it was really fun.

Dear Dean,

Thanks for your company in Gambella.

I hope your trip from Jimma to Addis worked out.

I'm back in comfy Denmark now, enjoying the showers, tap water and the food!

To my first grade friends in Bassett,
Well, I generally don't drink the water, I made a mistake and drank it when I first arrived in Ethiopia, this proved to be not such a good idea, but we learn from our mistakes.
I buy bottled water, it's safe and easy. The downside is the trash pile it adds to.
Yes, I do feel clean, actually most of the time. I shower every day, sometimes there's no hot water, so I take a cold shower.
I'm safe and well, thank you for your comments, I am very happy to have you along for the journey.

I just sent off a new podcast, it will hopefully be posted in about a week. Make sure you take a look!

Cheers,

Dean

1st grade at Bassett

We just read about your time in Ethiopia. We don't think we would like brown showers. Do you ever feel clean???? Can you drink that water? We don't think it would taste very good. We hope you are safe and make sure you stay away from the crocodiles and mosquitoes!!

It's raining in Bassett today and it's nice and cool! Wish we could send you some cool air!

Good Morning Dean:

All is well here in Raleigh, NC. Am working on a special project and talking with some of your former associates about it! It involves big dairies (4,000 cows+).

Enjoyed your post and wish you well on your trek.
Andy
