My last school visit in the Pittsburgh area was at McIntrye Elementary.

Malaika Foundation and the Nebraska Dept of EDU

Over the last couple of weeks I have had the privledge of working with the Makaika Foundation and the Nebraska Department of EDU on a series of workshops across the state of Nebraska promoting the importance of the international experience inside the Nebraska classrooms.

 

Teachers in North Platte explore how to bring the world into the Nebraska classroom.

Me, Genie Solt (Malaika), Vicki Scow and Larry Star, (Neb Dept of EDU ) the traveling dog and pony show across the state.

I stopped and took a look at Car Hinge in Alliance, NE as I headed west.

Scotts Bluff National Monument. 

Mullen Nebraska

A visit with the K-12 grades in Mullen Nebraska was organized by Barb McIntosh. Thank you Barb,  what a great day!   Western Nebraska is one of my favorite places to visit.

A float down the Niobrara River

The other day I had the privilege to canoe down the Niobrara River in western Nebraska with a group of students from Hiensburg Germany.

The weather was perfect, the company wonderful!

Canoes were going in every direction, but we still made it down the river.

The fall colors are well under way in western Nebraska.

Smith Falls greeted us at the end of the journey.
