China is one vast and interesting place. I've never seen so many people moving in so many directions at one time!
For some reason China has blocked my web site. It still is accessible, if you connect to it from a proxy web site. It is not unusual for China to block web sites, so I have joined the ranks of BBC and Wikipedia. I guess they have decided I am a dangerous dissident that has the potential to cause trouble. At any rate, it is inconvenient, but does not take away from the interesting sites and experiences China has to offer.

My travel companions, Kristin, Siren, Nicole, Sanna and Pedro.
For 12 days I bounced through the remote countryside of Mongolia with five other traveling companions. At the end of the day, I would make up a bed time story to help pass the quiet long evenings with my new friends. I didn't finish the story until after the journey, and thought you might enjoy reading something different.
The conclusion of the story: A journey into the Gobi.
For days the two Dutch Queens, two Norwegian Princesses, and the Portuguese Sea Captain road through the snow dusted mountains in search of the Holy Reindeer. Passing through Europe, I made a brief stop to see my friends in Germany.
Many thanks to the Werner family for their kindness.

It is such a big change to go from the old buses and pickups of northern Africa to the modern trains of Europe.

A couple of weeks ago I landed in Brussels Belgium after saying good bye to Africa after six months.

Once I got my feet on the ground I headed straight for the train station and booked a ticket to Haarlem, Holland to see friends from a previous journey.

I landed in Europe with a bit of a deer in the headlights feeling. Africa was hot, Europe is turning cool with fall.
